What If?

Today’s blog is going to be a simple and easy one. No heavy gyan! But still it will leave an impact on your life and get you going forward for things.

Let me ask you a simple question,

What if?

Is the most powerful question you can ask yourself before you make any decision and the most disempowering question you can ask yourself after the fact.

Most people ask wonder "what if" at the end of their life as they look back at their existence with sadness and regret.

Don't wait until your last days to ask ‘What if?’, because at that point it serves you absolutely no purpose.

You have to be asking yourself ‘What if?’ every morning before you start the day, every time you have a decision to make and most importantly every time an opportunity presents itself.

  • What if you asked that girl out?
  • What if you went to gym daily?
  • What if you started that business?
  • What if you went to that seminar?
  • What if you changed jobs?
  • What if you created a beautiful moment with your wife or husband?
  • What if you took dance classes?
  • What if you wrote that book?
  • What if you showed the world your gift and talents?
  • What if you invested that money?
  • What if you made that sales call?

Now is the time to ask yourself "’What if?’ Don't wait till the end of your life.
Because…

What if you never truly lived your life and never did the things you wanted to do and never became the person you wanted to be and never got the chance use your unique gifts and talents and what if you never got to love the person you love to the full depth of your passion and what if you never created and left your legacy for your family and the world.

Asking yourself ‘What if?’ is the quickest and easiest way to prevent regret from happening and it starts today. No more regrets folks!

AND THANK GOD FOR THAT!

Mark Zuckerberg became the world's youngest billionaire in 2008 when he was just 23 years-old. He along with his bunch of friends founded Facebook.

Bill Gates was 20 years old when he started Microsoft.

The most popular blog software available was created by Matt Mullenweg --WordPress. He is 25 years old, and WordPress is worth $40 million.

Sameer Gehlaut and Rajiv Rattan of Indiabulls were 26 when they started Indiabulls which, according to Forbes, became a multi-million dollar company in the next 7-8 years.

Binny and Sachin, the owners of Flipkart, were both around 26 years old in 2007 when they launched Flipkart. In less than 6 years they are taking home remuneration of over 10.25 crore.

Sabeer Bhatia of Hotmail was 30 year old when he sold Hotmail to Microsoft for around $400 million dollars.

The list is a long, very long one and I can go on and on. But what’s the point I am hitting at?

It’s this – All these guys have broken the proverbial ‘ladder’ to success. They did not take the steps in the chronological order. They instead started at say – step number 9, where they had an idea which had no head or tail.

Then jumped to step number 26, where without much money, educational degree or experience they started working on their ideas, and from there, step 100, where they have actually materialised their weird ideas into reality for the world to see and gawk at. They showed us that success has nothing to do with age or experience. Ideas have nothing to do with University degrees. Failure is not permanent. Perseverance can never be obsolete. Passion, and not money that drives the difference. And courage is not an option but a must to stand out in a crowd.

All these guys showed that there is no set path to be followed to success. That a set-back doesn’t mean failure until you give up. They redefined success. They held the torch and showed the way – That there is probably no way, but the one you pave for yourself. They made us realise that there is not just one, but several ways to reach your desired destination. They also tell us that our life’s destination can be something that our heart desire and not just a means to earn our living. They make us believe that we don’t need to be 70 years old to see money or reap the benefits of hard work. That everything can be achieved in the ‘now’ time and there is really nothing to be scared of it. This energetic bunch have showed it to us that it’s ok to sometimes break some rules, make a difference and have fun …

And thank God for that!!

10 Books You Must Read Now!

In a perfect world, you would read voraciously — in your free time, for pleasure, while waiting for the train, while standing in line at the grocery store. You should read because it is one of the very few leisure pursuits that can actually make you a better person.
Becoming well-read requires that you read, and reading makes you smarter. Plenty of my pals wouldn’t read a book if you paid them. They’re enjoyable, clever men but none of them are the kind of sharp. Reading forces you to sit and focus. It also improves your vocabulary, and doing it regularly even improves your analytical abilities. Books are a direct link between the artist’s creative talent and the audience, and there’s a book that touches on every subject you could ever be interested in, but that’s not even the kicker. The best thing about book is that it tells you half the story and forces you to come up with all the scenery and information yourself, in a way that TV and video games can’t. Your mind in forced to fill in the blanks automatically and the product is better than what anybody could ever spoon-feed you from a screen.
To put it bluntly, be well-read because it’s to your strong advantage to be so. Put in the work, and let your mind do the running. Reading is almost an act of sedition in our passive digital-screen culture. It’s an engaging enterprise, and it’s the way our ancestors meant to pass on their collected experience. Reading takes the time and focus a screen will never ask of you, rewarding you with intellectual riches if you take the time to curl up and focus.
These are the 10 books I always share and recommend and I am sure they will make a great difference in your life too.
I have placed them in order so they have an even greater impact on you and your life.
1. ‘Richest Man in Babylon’ by George S Clason
2. ‘How to Win friends & Influence People’ by Dale Carnegie
3. ‘The Alchemis’t by Paulo Coelho
4. ‘Think and Grow Rich’ by Napoleon Hill
5. ‘The Compound Effect’ by Darren Hardy
6. ‘Unlimited Power’ by Anthony Robbins
6. ‘The education of a Body Builder’ by Arnold Schwarzenegger
7. ‘Purple Cow’ by Seth Godin
8. ‘Flight Plan’ by Brian Tracy
9. ‘How to master the art of selling’ by Tom Hopkins
And here comes the 10th book that I would want you to read. ‘Dive Within’ by Bhupendra Singh Rathore J

Most of these books also come as Audio books so if you like to listen to something when you wake up or throughout the day or while you go for a morning walk then you can also use that as a powerful tool to get you going.

Happy reading and let me know which ones really had an impact on you.

10 Tips to Motivate Yourself

I think we all have moments of inspiration and for many of us it can even occur numerous times throughout the day. It can be an idea or a product or a simple question of how to do or make things better.
But most people never act on their moments of inspiration. Those great ideas and solutions and products just go to the grave with them or they see that idea they had years ago on the TV with some young kid making millions of dollars of that same concept!

                                  Inspiration + Motivation = ACTION

That is why we always hear rags to riches stories or people who had nothing turn it all around like ShahRukh Khan or Sachin Tendulkar because they were motivated. Now you don't need to be living on the street to be motivated or desperate or frustrated but from my experience things happen and you take action when you are inspired & motivated at the same time. That is the fuel that sparks the fire that sets you on the path to ACTION!

So here I am sharing 10 tips that will help you keep inspired:

1.       Quotes - Inspirational quotes were cited by many, but how they used them were as unique as they are.  Some literally had a wall or white board filled with quotes they had discovered through the years, while others took to putting a particular favorite (such as “just keep swimming,” from the kids’ movie Finding Nemo, taped to their monitor or they used a favorite quote as a screensaver.

2.       Employees are relying on you - This is related to the necessity argument. An extremely high number of entrepreneurs I talked to mentioned all the people who could be potentially out of work, if the entrepreneur did less than their absolute best and their company suffered. Feeling responsible for their employees’ economic future kept them going.

3.       Visualization - They say focusing on what success will ultimately look like keeps them going.  I worry that having fixed image of success could keep you from pursuing other opportunities that you could encounter on the way, but I am including this one here because it seems to work for so many.

4.       Exercise - Think. Sometimes being tired, depressed and wrung out is “simply” a matter of over-work or being out of shape (or both.)  Taking a break—at regular points–could be enough to keep you going.  And at the very least, if you get into shape you will have more energy—even if your exercise program doesn’t do a anything to improve your company’s  performance.

5.       Re-frame your problems - Every solution has a problem. Begin to see the opportunities created by your problems.

6.       Take baby steps - Break down what you need to do into little steps. Make the first step tiny. Walking is easier once you have started.

7.       Brainstorm - Get out a pen and write a goal or something you want in your life on the top of the page, and a list of 1 to 20.

8.       Clean up - tidy up your surroundings because environment has a huge influence and the less distracting and dirty it is, the better you’ll feel.

9.       Act like your heroes - Read about them, watch them, listen to them. Discover what they did that was special and what made them tick. But remember that they are people just like us. So let them inspire you instead of looking up at them admiringly.

10.   Make each day count- We don’t have all the time in the world. So focus on today and do the things you really want to do.

Keep in mind that if you're finding that you’re not really doing anything or nothing's seems to be happening it's usually because you aren't inspired enough and you aren't motivated enough to take action, to make those changes. In other words you are too comfortable with your situation & circumstances! I hope these simple tips bring that required change and fun in your life.

I would love it if you could share this post with your friends and colleagues. Until next time, loads of love…BSR.
